Its
Your Wedding Dance, Make it Memorable!
In times past
the “Waltz” was considered to be “the
appropriate” dance as a couple’s first dance
together. Today however, anything goes and quite often the
choice of music is dictated by the song and its lyrics
rather than the rhythm of the music. Society Tempo,
formerly known as the One-Step, and the more recent Nite
Club 2-Step are quite often the dance rhythms chosen with
popular lyrics for today’s couples.
Don’t
start off on the wrong foot! If you are new
to dance, the good news is that you have no bad habits. And
even better than that, you have found experienced,
nationally certified instruction to get you off to a good
start.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many
lessons will it take?
We all have an
ability to dance, some more than others. For this reason it
is best to start with our
Wedding Special 3 private one-hour lessons for
$169. (Additional
lessons are $60-$65/hr). 5 or 6
lessons is the average for most couples new to dance. For
those who insist on living on the edge, 30 lessons will
take your wedding dance to competition level.
Where do
I find the right music?
Because we live
in a time where anything goes, we suggest that you find
something among your current listening comfort zone. You
can’t dance to a song if you don’t like it, no
matter how many lessons you buy. Ballroom Magic has some
selections to consider if you are having a hard time with
your selection or if your selection is too challenging to
dance to.
What
type of shoes should I wear?
Something comfortable that ties or straps onto your feet
will work best, preferably with leather soles and heels
that are no higher than what you are used to wearing.
Remember, just because a pair of shoes look sharp
doesn’t mean that you will be able to focus on your
“special” dance when your feet are killing you,
or while you are struggling to maintain your balance.
